Creating a welcoming visual for the College of Engineering
After my first week at the College of Engineering, I asked the Director of Communications if he would allow me to create a motion graphic that would serve as a welcome for the screens. He agreed, and thus began my journey in creating a subtle yet engaging motion graphic! I had dabbled in after effects for a bit, but this would be the first time I would create something that would be showcased to students, faculties, visitors, and donors. You could say that I was under a lot of pressure.
The Director of Communications gave me free reign over design choices and how I would put it together as long as it fell within the brand guidelines of the college. I set out to create a simple graphic that was clean and yet interactive. Since this graphic would be on display for a large screen, I made sure to use a lot of real estate in my initial photoshop design. I also decided to include a call to action that could resonate with students, faculty, and donors.
